The Navigation Pane lets you select whatever you want to do. Depending on your permissions and the installed modules on your Magnolia instance, you will be able to select the following modules or more:

  • Documents : Add and manage your documents
  • Inbox : This is where publishers and editors manage workflow requests for pages activation, for instance.
  • Security : Manage Users, Groups and Roles and assign the according access rights to Magnolia
  • Configuration : Configuration section for Magnolia and its modules.
  • Tools : Shortcut to helpful tools like import/export, repository browser, ...)
Some of these menu items have submenus to let you further choose what to see.

In the “security” menu, you will see lists of users, groups, roles. (depending on the submenu item you clicked). Each of these menu items and their possibilities will be described in more detail further on.

Magnolia comes with a sophisticated security system. You can only access Magnolia with login credentials. On the top-right side of the workspace pane you see the current user logged in to AdminCentral. This is also where the logout link is: as with any other application, it is strongly recommended that you log off Magnolia when you are done working or you leave the desk for long periods of time. Keep in mind that with Magnolia you are able to manage your complete Web applications!

4) Function Bar

You can call each of the module's functions by either clicking the right-mouse button in the workspace pane or by choosing an option in the workspace navigation bar. The function bar usually provides the most common tasks.
