Configure User settings
If you want to edit your User settings you first have to bring the Users into your workspace pane.
To do so click on the Security section of in the Navigation pane and select Users from the opening list.
This will switch to the Users repository and show you all available users in your workspace pane. If you just see a few or only your user page keep in mind that the administrator may have set your access rights to only see your user page!
Edit User settings
After selecting the "Users" item from the "Security" menu, you will see a list of registered Magnolia users in the workspace pane.
To edit a user double-click on the user icon. This opens the "Edit User Dialog".
* User name : once the user has been created, the user name can only be changed in the workspace pane.
- Full name : type the full name of the user.
- Password : Type a password and verify your password by retyping it in the field below.
- Email : the email address can be used for all sorts of tasks, e.g. in the workflow to inform you about new tasks.
- Language : select the language you want the AdminCentral to be using. Magnolia comes in many different languages.
- Groups : allows you to add the user into one or more groups by selecting one or more of the available groups. Usually this setting is only available to Administrators.
- Roles : a role defines a set of access rights. By assigning a Role to a user you define the access rights for this user.
Make sure to be consistent in your naming! Define conventions like "firstname lastname" or "lastname, firstname". Be prepared to have hundreds of users registered here!
